Good Sunday Morning to you all! I am excited to you share with you my first
project with the newest
Quick Quotes collection,
Tin Type. I love the muted color scheme it uses with
great graphics like gears, balloons and papers with diamond and chevron
patterns.
This is my layout I created with this amazing collection:
As you can see I started with the
Printer's Tray 12x12 Chipboard. This comes in two pieces which is just great for the added dimension I so crave! Ok I have to confess..I am covered in ink as I type this, lol!! I started with the bottom piece of chipboard and inked all the edges with
Amaretto PowderPuff Chalking Ink. I wanted an aged kind of look to this frame so I decided to stamp and emboss a pattern here and there on the bottom piece of chipboard. Once that was complete I inked the surface with
Tahiti Powderpuff Chalking Ink, right over the embossing and everything, then I took a wet wipe and gently moved the ink around and off of the embossing, I love the patina look I got with this method! For the top piece of the chipboard and the handle I embossed the surface completely to get a metal kind of look, the embossing powder had glitter in it so I love how it came out.
Then I began adding photos behind the chipboard and chose to add a vellum silhouette and a vellum color quote,
I loved playing with the
Balloon 8x10 Chipboard and included both the gears and the balloon in my layout. I decided to have the balloon disappearing off the edge of the paper so only included a portion of it (plus I want it to fit in his scrapbook :). Some of the gears I covered in paper, the others and the balloon I inked first with
Baja Blue PowderPuff Chalking Ink pretty much solid and then I lightly tapped some
Tahiti PowderPuff Chalking Ink over the top...love the speckled kind of look I got with it!!
I also added some additional embossing on the designs in the balloon chipboard as well:
And as a final touch I added a Frosted Butterfly by Quick Quotes!
I hope you enjoy my layout featuring Quick Quotes and my grandson Trevor, who last summer when we went camping at the beach fell off the bunk bed and hit the edge of the table with his forehead splitting it right open. We jumped in the motorhome and headed for nearby Ventura to find someplace to stitch him up, getting lost every step of the way. We finally found our way, got some liquid stitches and were back at the beach with in a few hours to continue our weekend vacation. Trevor was quite the trooper!!
