Documenting Disneyland with Quick Quotes!

Hi all....Julie here to share with you a Disneyland layout created with Quick Quotes paper line Summer Samba!!
I think that these colors are perfect for a layout of a little boy's day at Disneyland, dont you?  I had my Grandson Jeromy here from Arizona for his Spring Break this year, and since his vacation was not the same as my other two grandchildren my mom and I got the chance to take him to Disneyland all on his own....a special day!!
As you can see....he had a great day!!!  This quote from the quotes paper included in this collection could not have been more perfect.  I love when I can find a quote that so matches with the spirit of the layout!  I created a fun little banner as part of the title by cutting strips of paper and using a border punch on each edge then folding it over.  Also the Balloon chipboard was a great addition.  I simply inked the surfaces with the PowderPuff Chalking Ink, then the edges with a darker color and the strings another color and then added some stickles to the surface...they are so rich looking, I love them!!  I adhered them with some pop dots to get some dimension as well.
Tucking in some punched circles on a border gives the look of a cool scallopped edge. I simply punched the circles, inked the edges and applied stickles to the surface for some fun shine.  I love the journaling blocks that are included with the Quotes sheet, makes life so easy....and I simply added a frame around it by adding a larger piece of paper that was inked to help it show up better.
I hope that you enjoyed my colorful Disneyland layout as much as I did creating it!!

A little Spring Inspiration for ya!

I just love the colors of Spring! Whether its pretty and soft pastels or bright bold colors they are my favorite!!  Quick Quotes has a great paper line called One Fine Day that is perfect for your favorite spring shots:
I had a canvas panel and some squares of chipboard that I received in my Quick Quotes Club Q kit last month and I decided to make a wall hanging with it and my One Fine Day collection, check it out:
I had this sweet little picture of my grandson taken at spring time a few years ago that has long been a favorite and it was a perfect match for this line of papers. I added lots of ink work, gotta love the PowderPuff Chalk Inks, some hand stitching, a great quote, and the beautiful chipboard butterfly by Quick Quotes.

This little wall hanging is going to look great in my turquoise and lime green themed bedroom!

A little more Quick Quotes inspiration!

Hi all....good Sunday morning to you!!  Julie here to share with you some inspiration from the Club Q kits from Quick Quotes!

I am in love with the deep edge canvas's!  I love that you can decorate the edges as well as the surface and that it can hang or sit on a shelf.  And I am in love with this piece of paper from Quick Quotes from the Tin Type line....I love the color scheme and you cant beat a paper with rays on it....screams summer and beach to me!!
So I started with this paper and a deep edge canvas and this is what I made:

First I used the Quick Quotes PowderPuff ink in Lemonade all over the edges and then went over the corners with PowderPuff ink in Mango Mai Tai.  Then I stamped the swirl pattern with PowderPuff ink in Baja Blue.
I love using this ink!!  It goes on so smooth and so rich!
I crumpled the paper and wet it a little then smoothed it out and applied it to the surface of the canvas...love the texture it gives.  I inked the Umbrella chipboard with the PowderPuff ink in Tahiti first and then lightly went over it with some Baja Blue.  The frame around the photo was border punched from the back side of the same paper...great way to use scraps and coordinate!  I lightly touched the border pieces with some Tahiti ink as well.

I hand made the rolled flowers, also from the scraps of the same piece of paper and touched the edges with some more of the Tahiti ink.  The Butterfly chipboard was covered in the Lemonade ink and the edges touched with Mango Mai Tai and then I spread a thin layer of Stickles over the surface.
Added my quote and some twine and I now have a beautiful altered canvas to display...that is if my daughter doesn't steal it, lol!!

Ingredients:
Quick Quotes paper - Tin Type 400
Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalking Ink - Baja Blue, Tahiti, Lemonade, Mango Mai Tai
Chipboard - Quick Quotes Umbrella, Quick Quotes Butterfly
Quick Quotes Quote - Adventure
Gems - Webster's Pages
Stamp - Tim Holtz
Twine - We R Memory Keepers
Punch - Martha Stewart
Flower and brads - Stash

In Love by Webster's Pages

My new favorite collection!!!  In Love by Webster's Pages:

Traditional:
Clean & Simple:
My Daughter Kari got married 10 yrs ago in September and this was before digital was so big so we had actual prints....not files.  Somewhere along the 10 year span she had them scanned and put on disc.  When I saw this collection I asked her for the discs.  Its been such fun to look at them again and get to work with them in digital format.  What a good time we had!

This first layout I did captures a fun memory...brings a smile to my face everytime!!

Before the wedding started the photographer was taking pictures of the girls out in front of the grooms parents house where the wedding was held and the Ice Cream truck came by, Kari...in her dress and ready for the ceremony, ran out and stopped the truck and got a SpongeBob ice cream!!  None of us had any money so one of the guests arriving for the wedding paid, lol!  We were all terrified she would get it on her dress, she didnt, and it was great fun.  Later this incident was used as a trivia question during the reception..and that guest who paid for the ice cream had the answer, lol!!

My second layout is actually a lift of our Guest Design Team member this month, Carol Monson:

As soon as I saw the Dress motif and the ticket I knew what I was going to do!  I love how the Tiara also is so similar to Kari's!

What a great collection this is and what fun I am having creating with my daughters wedding photos...who knows...if I continue I can make a book for their 10th anniversary!!!

Sharing some Quick Quotes Tin Type - Club Q for March!

Hi all!  Its been a busy few weeks for me and I have had this layout I did with Quick Quotes Club Q for March featuring Tin Type on my mind the entire time and this weekend I finally got the chance to play and create!  I know I say it every time I post but I am majorly in love with the Powder Puff Inks by Quick Quotes, they go on so great, have a wonderful finish and its so easy to blend the colors as well!!  My next love is the new chipboard and when you combine the two it is fantastic!

So I used one of the Club Q kits from March for my layout, which features Tin Type and some Gears from the Bag 'o Chips and of course lots of INK!!!

This layout also features my grandson Jeromy as a toddler....I have loved these pictures forever!  There is nothing like a toddler in a pair of overalls and these were even Levis!!!  I love how the Quick Quotes phrases add so much to the photos...my sentiment exactly.

So let me share a little about what I did with this layout.  The main background paper is inked on the edges with both Mango Mai Tai and Green with Envy         Inks.  Just a touch here and there with each gives such depth and color.  The next layer was a full sheet of paper where I cut off an inch on each side and then distressed the edges and inked with Biscotti ink.  The chipboard accents, gears and buckle were very simply inked with Baja Blue, Amaretto, Limeade and Mango Mai Tai ink.  I added some boarder pieces that I punched and inked with Mango Mai Tai ink, and some banners I hand cut and inked with Mango Mai Tai ink as well.  The phrases and photos were added  along with buttons and bakers twine to finish off the look.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit and that I have inspired you to grab some Quick Quotes product and create your own layout!!

Sharing Quick Quotes newest line Tin Type!!

Good Sunday Morning to you all!  I am excited to you share with you my first project with the newest Quick Quotes collection, Tin Type.   I love the muted color scheme it uses with great graphics like gears, balloons and papers with diamond and chevron patterns.

This is my layout I created with this amazing collection:
As you can see I started with the Printer's Tray 12x12 Chipboard.  This comes in two pieces which is just great for the added dimension I so crave!  Ok I have to confess..I am covered in ink as I type this, lol!!  I started with the bottom piece of chipboard and inked all the edges with Amaretto PowderPuff Chalking Ink.  I wanted an aged kind of look to this frame so I decided to stamp and emboss a pattern here and there on the bottom piece of chipboard.  Once that was complete I inked the surface with Tahiti Powderpuff Chalking Ink, right over the embossing and everything, then I took a wet wipe and gently moved the ink around and off of the embossing, I love the patina look I got with this method!  For the top piece of the chipboard and the handle I embossed the surface completely to get a metal kind of look, the embossing powder had glitter in it so I love how it came out.

Then I began adding photos behind the chipboard and chose to add a vellum silhouette and a vellum color quote,
Vellum Silhouette- Gears and the color vellum strip - These are the Best Times, which I cut in half and put part in one window and the rest on another, can be seen in greater detail above.

I loved playing with the Balloon 8x10 Chipboard and included both the gears and the balloon in my layout.  I decided to have the balloon disappearing off the edge of the paper so only included a portion of it (plus I want it to fit in his scrapbook :).  Some of the gears I covered in paper, the others and the balloon I inked first with Baja Blue PowderPuff Chalking Ink pretty much solid and then I lightly tapped some Tahiti PowderPuff Chalking Ink over the top...love the speckled kind of look I got with it!!
I also added some additional embossing on the designs in the balloon chipboard as well:
And as a final touch I added a Frosted Butterfly by Quick Quotes!
I hope you enjoy my layout featuring Quick Quotes and my grandson Trevor, who last summer when we went camping at the beach fell off the bunk bed and hit the edge of the table with his forehead splitting it right open.  We jumped in the motorhome and headed for nearby Ventura to find someplace to stitch him up, getting lost every step of the way.  We finally found our way, got some liquid stitches and were back at the beach with in a few hours to continue our weekend vacation.  Trevor was quite the trooper!!

Supplies used:
Quick Quotes
Inks - PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Amaretto, Baja Blue and Tahiti
Frosted Butterfly
Other:
Stampendous Embossing Powder
Top Boss Embossing Stamp Pad
Alphas - American Crafts, Making Memories

Ad's for Inspiration

Ever get in a creative slump?  Mojo on vacation?  Just need a jump start?

Happens to me frequently.  One thing that really helps is to find a print advertisement and lift the design!

Here is one that I did recently:
Lots of white space with this one....always a challenge for me, and I really loved the solid blue line running across the bottom, really tied it together for me.  So I decided I would work on a digital layout this time around.  I chose to use my Webster's Pages All About Me digital collection and this is what I came up with:
I flipped it a bit but I used the basic design.  It was a great way to restart the creative process :)

Webster's Pages converts all of their printed paper collections in to digital, did you know that?  Even the new ones that arent shipping yet....I love having the freedom to us whatever I want whenever I want over and over...the beauty of digital :)  Go to see Webster's Digital collections HERE

Have a create day!!!

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Just wanted to share some Valentine goodies that I created this year :)

I recieved the Echo Park Yours Truly collection and paired it with my Epiphany Crafts epoxies to make these cards for my grandkids.....my little Valentines :)

You'll have to forgive the cell phone photos of two of the cards as my camera is out getting serviced :)

Also I created this digital layout using Webster's Pages digital collections Sunday Picnic and Western Romance:
And happily shortly after I made this layout he asked my daughter to marry him :)

And lastly, I love to paint on rocks so I created these beach rocks using paint, papers, rub ons and my Epiphany Crafts epoxies and buttons:

Hope you have a great Valentines Day with your special person or peoples!!

Winter Park by Echo Park + Epiphany Crafts = Fun!!

Echo Park graciously traded product with Epiphany Crafts and I was the lucky recipient of  2 Echo Park collections....so generous and I have to say I love Echo Park!  Its so easy to create with the Echo Park papers!!

One of the collections I got was Winter Park, and though we have no snow in California and this year very little snow anywhere close I had to really stretch to find a photo for this fine collection...but I did find a great one!!  My mom and I went to Canada in the fall and we took some crazy pictures....that's what happens when you are gone 15 days I guess, LOL!!
I couldn't resist creating a "scene" with this collection!  Tearing that paper just felt good, lol! Oh and yea...that's my mom, shes a great model for doing the crazy things I think of :)
I used the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 buttons to make snowflakes.....perfect I say!!
And the bigger Epiphany Crafts Round 20 buttons made great snowflakes for the ground :)
I really love the pop of red in this collection!!

Our friend Liz Qualman was so sweet and shared her lovely inspirational sketch with us for this challenge.

I got to work with the delicious new line Summer Samba, and the new embellishments (Chipboard and Frosted Dragonfly), and one of the fun new ink colors (Lemonade)
I am in love with the cute little flip flops Chipboard...what fun they are to alter!! I inked the edges with the *new* color ink, lemonade!
I would love to have a pair of these for real :)
This is one of the *new* Frosted embellishments, I added some of the Lemonade ink to it to help it stand out a bit.
When I do some fussy cutting I love to have it stand out a bit from the background, I did it with these flowers by cutting into the flowers and bending them a little away from the background.  You could also add some foam adhesive spots to get some dimension.
